On Thursday, August 9, 2021, Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C. tested positive for COVID-19 while being fully vaccinated. With the cases of the delta variant rising, more and more vaccinated people are contracting the dominant strain of the COVID-19 virus. These breakthrough cases have been especially prevalent in Washington D.C. and caused speculation about the efficacy of the vaccines. Another notable case was Sen. Lindsay Graham who tested positive this past week as well.
