According to Alex Johnson of NBC News, COVID cases in the U.S. this week have increased by 64% compared to the week before. Cases have surged in most states, including Florida where the one-day case total reached the highest since the start of the pandemic. Vaccines have proven to be one of, if not the most effective ways to prevent COVID, as even the “so-called breakthrough infections of people who have been vaccinated, which are expected with wide-scale vaccination campaigns, represent less than .08 percent of the 164.2 million-plus people who have been fully vaccinated since January.” Read more about the recent case surge in the AOL article here.
