The CDC reports 5,800 COVID-19 infections in people who were vaccinated

In a recent report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were about 5,800 cases of COVID-19 with individuals who have been fully vaccinated in the United States. In an article by Yahoo Life, they calculated that this “amounts to a rate of 0.008 percent of Americans who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 that have gotten the infection”. The CDC also stated in the article that “COVID-19 vaccines are effective and are a critical tool to bring the pandemic under control. All of the available vaccines have been proven effective at preventing severe illness, hospitalizations and deaths”. Doctors are warning the public to not panic with these “breakthrough” cases. Kristen Nordulund of the CDC told Yahoo Life that “we expect thousands of vaccine breakthrough cases will occur even though the vaccine is working as expected”. At contagion-CLEAN, we have found this as a very interesting article and we would like to share this information to our customers. Read the full article here
